Community Service

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." – Mahatma Gandhi

Delhi Public School, Bilaspur has always believed in giving back to the community and creating young leaders who truly understand the importance of “Service Before Self”. With this in mind, our school organizes programs to inculcate the values of selflessness and humility within every student. Here are a few glimpses of DPS Bilaspur’s “service before self”-

JOY OF GIVING WEEK
To encourage the young students to embrace the spirit of sharing and caring, DPS Bilaspur has launched a ‘Joy of Giving’ week where students come together and get first hand experience of "Service Before Self". Students donate books, clothes, toys and stationery in good condition and all the donated items are taken to the Shelter Home to help the needy.

SWACHH BHARAT CAMPAIGN
Delhi Public School, Bilaspur takes pride in being a part of the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan under the “Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign”. To take this initiative a step ahead, on 2nd October of every year, students and teachers of DPS Bilaspur, armed with brooms ensure that every nook and corner of the school is spic and span. The students are taught about the need and importance of maintaining basic hygiene and sanitation and how proper health and hygiene positively impacts their lives.

GO GREEN GANESHA
DPS Bilaspur strongly believes in teaching students about environmental preservation but also enables them to gain an insight into the Indian culture. With this thought in mind, DPS Bilaspur conducts a ‘Go Green Ganesha’ campaign. Students, along with their mothers, actively participate with great enthusiasm. They make Ganesh idols from clay with seeds mixed in it with devotion, passion and creativity and the idols are then placed in earthen pots. These idols are then immersed in pots to prevent water pollution and save the environment. The event aims at creating social awareness about the ill effects of Plaster of Paris (POP) that is usually used in idols.
